Debate - Hand hygiene, is it really worth our while?

Affirmative Team: Lisa Gilbert, Tanya Jackways, Dr Jared Green

Negative Team: Carolyn Clissold, Francie Morgan, Prof Stephanie Dancer

To find the answer, two teams will be pitted against one another in the time honoured manner of a scholarly debate. Each team will put forward arguments supporting their allocated viewpoint – affirmative or negative. Please not; the viewpoint the debaters express may not necessarily be their personal view point.

You can expect logical consistency, factual accuracy (evidence), good humour, some eschewing of the truth and a degree of emotional appeal to you, the audience to support each viewpoint.

The Moderator, Carol Jarvis will ably preside over the proceedings and will aim to keep the teams under control.

Audience participation in the form of laughing and clapping will be required. Heckling will not be acceptable. The ‘clapmeter’ will be utilised to decide the winning team but the chair will have the final say.
